Indak was founded in 1947 in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois.
|

|
| In 1956 Indak moved to its present location in Northbrook,
Illinois. This facility,
now expanded to 55,000 square feet and approximately 200 employees, is headquarters for the Indak
Group.
Design Engineering, Test Lab, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Management, Sales, Accounting, Data Processing and Administration are all managed from this location.
Production in Northbrook is primarily vacuum valves and low current
electro-mechanical and electronic climate control components. Twelve stamping presses, up to 60 tons, produce metal parts for this and other
Indak Group assembly plants. Thirty Engineers and supporting technicians provide product, process, and assembly tool designs.
The Model Shop builds samples and prototypes of new products. Most assembly tools are designed
and built in-house.

Indak was originally awarded Ford's Q1 in 1982, and in 1997 became QS 9000
certified. |
